Certified Renovator Training
Tuesday, April 27 2010
Atlantic Millwork & Cabinetry will be hosting a Certified Renovator Training seminar on May 18th from 7:15am-5:30pm at the Hampton Inn in Rehoboth Beach, DE. The program fee is $175.00. Go to andersenrrptraining.com and enter event code 6335 or call 888-296-7971 to register. The EPA has a new Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting rule that went into effect April 22, 2010. New guidelines are in place for pre-1978 homes, childcare facilities, and schools where lead is present and painted surfaces will be disturbed. Renovations, repair and painting projects being completed in these environments will need to follow the new rules set forth. Window and door replacements are impacted by this rule. For example, EPA brochures will be required to be distributed prior to the start of work, lead-safe work practices will need to be in place, and EPA certification will be required for contracting firms and contractors.
To help comply with these changes, Andersen Windows, Inc. is helping coordinate through Connor Institute, EPA Certified Renovator training classes. Atlantic Millwork & Cabinetry will be hosting a training event as indicated above. *Visit the Environmental Protection Agency’s webpage for specific information regarding new rules pertaining to Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting issued by the EPA (http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovation.htm)
